It’s hip to be square.

uncategorized

In December, I made the decision to go from floating rectangles back to squares on Instagram. I shared my first few square pictures here. It’s time for another little Instagram catch up. Make sure you stay caught up as things happen by following me on instagram.

ONE // I got this weird bump thing on my eyelid. My eye was swollen and really tender and I couldn’t keep my eye all the way open. It was like my eye was growing an extra eye or something! It’s gone down now, but it was a rough few days. I felt like a hot mess.

TWO // Y’all, I need to write about this lady named Charlotte. She made my day. I sat down to finish up some care packages to send to my friends who are reminding me all the ways I’m loved when I needed it the most.

THREE // Before heading to camp for Bible Bowl, we took the girls and walked around Mississippi for awhile and we went into Pistils Nursery, aka the cutest little store you’ve ever seen. There were chickens and succulents and plants and natural lotions and everything wonderful in the world.

FOUR // and OF COURSE we had to take advantage of Frappy Hour (why is this not the official name of it?).

FIVE // Bible Bowl weekend was great… there were SO MANY people I love all in one place. We all headed down to the campfire one night for a game night. It was a perfect evening to be in close, outside quarters with people who love me.

SIX // This kid. Elias. I could write endless blogs about him. My youth pastor’s son, whom I’ve known since he was a baby. Now he’s this brilliant teenage (OMG) boy..

SEVEN // ..and look at that smile. This kid. He will always have me wrapped around his finger – he is so funny, smart, kind and wonderful. I’m proud to have known him his whole life.

EIGHT // After the Bible Bowl weekend, I stayed with my friends foster kids while she went to a wedding. There are way worse ways to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

NINE // These flowers pop up in our driveway every year.  They are a constant reminder to me that Christ brings life to the most barren of times. We just have to have faith and keep watch.

TEN // Beckie and I caught up over coffee at Vivace. We talked a lot about forgiveness and friendship and I’m so grateful we were able to sit down and have some real talk.

ELEVEN // I took my lunch break at Happy Cup, where I started reading this book (Carry On, Warrior: The Power of Embracing Your Messy, Beautiful Life) my sweet friend Amber sent me once I told her about how I was hurting.

TWELVE // Because of Bible Bowl, my dad and I had to miss church together. New Heights just finished a series on Ruth called “Light for the Darkest Days” (UM HELLO SO RELEVANT TO MY LIFE!) and Matt Edmonds straight up had me in tears 5 minutes into his talk. I couldn’t jot his words down fast enough.

THIRTEEN // We’re painting our church nursery and transforming it into a kids room. I spent all day painting and then went to worship team practice. Paint and piano. Rough day at work.

FOURTEEN // Josh Kelley came to town! It had been awhile. A side by side comparison of the first time I met him and when I saw him a few days ago. We’ve become grown ups!

FIFTEEN // Mei-Ling, my kindred spirit who shares my love of music, came to see Josh. The day after we did a little waterfall chasing and Gorge exploring. I can’t wait to share pictures from our adventures in the next few days. My life wouldn’t be the same without her.

SIXTEEN // This little guy. The world is so big compared to him, and he’ll never even really understand that.

Life has been really full, busy and wonderful the past few weeks. I’m so grateful that God keeps choosing ME to wake up every single day and I hope I never take that for granted.

  1. I love that those flowers pop up in your driveway every year! So pretty. And yes to renaming it Frappy Hour (because Frappucino Happy hour? lame). I went twice because that s’mores frap changed my life. YUM.

    1. next year, we’re taking on #frappyhour and we’re going to make it an unofficial official thing… though i only took advantage of it TWICE this year!! what. i’m pretty much all about java chip – i never tried the s’mores one! i was too intimidated! haha.

  2. Is that last photo a centipede?! Do you live in Washington or Oregon? We’re getting ready for a move this winter down to Oregon. (Winter is always the best time to move, right? Right…)

The outdoorsy pictures make me want to be there. NOW.

    1. or a millipede or something like that! i don’t know the difference. i live right on the border!!! i live in washington but work in oregon! where in oregon? let’s adventure like ASAP!

      1. SALEM. And yes. Adventuring must happen!! We plan on visiting Washington a lot as some good friends are moving there right when we move. Lots of train rides, I imagine!! 🙂

          1. it’s so pretty! it’s like this whole park with like 6 waterfalls on this hike. or something. i can’t remember, it’s been awhile. but it’s near salem! and it’s beautiful!

          2. OH MY GOSH I’m obsessed with waterfalls. Like, it’s kind of weird. I could just stand next to them for hours. Really, any sort of water, if I’m being honest. Rivers, lakes, waterfalls, oceans… whatever. If it’s h20, I love it. hahaha

          3. this is gonna be perfect!!! i’m kind of trying to start this girls faith-based hiking group; we’re going for the first time on saturday so maybe it’ll be established by the time you get here but if not SILVER FALLS FOR US!!
