January || Currently

uncategorized

Happiest January. I think I like January because it means we still haven't had Valentine's Day OR summer this year, two things I look forward to whenever they're not on the horizon. I'm linking up with Anne and Jessica for the Currently Linkup. and I'm barely getting in the linkup by the skin of my teeth and holy crap what the heck does that saying even mean…?

gathering: a list of bloggers who do income reports for a project that Justen and I are excited to launch. If you know any bloggers who post income reports, PLEASE SEND THEM MY WAY!! πŸ˜€

making: all the notes and updates in my Bullet Journal. i'm also making time to be really diligent about my blogging goals and my hopes of generating income from my hobbies.

sipping: caramel iced coffee with cream. I know all of y'all might be like "that's not Whole 30" and for that I'll refer you to this instagram post I made. I've been cutting out gluten + having very minimal dairy, which are the two things I REALLY wanted to get under control with Whole 30, anyway.

anyway back to this iced coffee. I've been at this Starbucks all day. I ordered a latte, then got a brewed coffee refill. I decided I'd prefer an iced coffee and went to order one. the barista counted it as a free refill, so all I've paid for all day was the initial latte. Seriously, if you're not utilizing your Starbucks gold card with free refills then you're doing it all wrong.

following:  well I guess I'm just going to tell y'all my favorite people to follow. I ALWAYS go to Southern Curls and Pearls, because she is the cutest and how about she's also goals for everything. On Instagram I'm following Printable Happies, who I LOVE SO MUCH. She is so sweet and her stuff is SO CUTE.

resolving: to focus on my goals this year. I want to read more books, lose the weight I worked so hard to lose, and be connected to my friends in a way that's been missing. I've been writing down my goals, breaking them into actionable steps and keeping track in my bullet journal

What are y'all currently up to?

  1. I love the syncing of online to-do lists too much to ever be a bullet journal girl, but I also might love GTD too much. Thus, I try to be supportive of everyone’s efforts at increased productivity. Whatever it takes to get things onto paper and get things done with a method that you actually *use* is the right way to go. Enjoy!

    1. oh my word – i cannot even begin to start syncing things online. things like clouds and e-mails and stuff. but as long as things get done, who cares about the method, right?! πŸ˜€ thanks for dropping by!

  2. I just read a really interesting income report and now I can’t remember the blogger. If I come across it again, I’ll send it your way.

Iced caramel coffee with cream is my very favorite Starbucks drink. The fancy ones are fun once in a while, but you can never wrong with iced caramel and cream. Yum.

    1. DANGIT laura!!! haha.
YASSSS we have the same fave starbucks drink! and it’s so cheap + free refills. and when they have the coconut flavor in the summer? caramel + coconut. that’s my signature flavor for everything ;D

  3. I’ve never visited Southern Curls & Pearls before but I clicked out and am now suffering some MAJOR hair envy. Carmel Iced Coffee is my favourite, I’ve been craving a really good ice coffee but it’s so darn cold out that I just want all the warm drinks. I’ve even been drinking water at room temperature!

    1. omg right?! her hair and her outfits ugh. i just LOVE her. i have a hard time drinking iced coffee in the cold, but when i was at starbucks all day it was so much better than the hot coffee πŸ™‚

    1. YAY!!! i am SO EXCITED to show y’all our project – i’ll probably end up sending it to you before it’s done because i’m so excited haha. && enjoy caitlin’s blog. she’s so fab and is my blogging hero.

  4. I love when you say you’re working on something because I know it’s gonna’ be good! I tend to lean toward sweet coffee, but now I’m tempted to try yours! Maybe next time I’m near a Starbucks! πŸ™‚ Enjoy the snow (if you have any, but I’ve heard you’re getting hit harder than we are up your way!)

    1. aw yay! thank you for your vote of confidence!!! the caramel iced coffee w/cream is actually pretty sweet! just ask for them to add the caramel to the sweetened iced coffee. the snow! we had so much of it, sob sob sob!

  5. I’ve been thinking about starting a bullet journal to help keep track of my ideas, as they seem to clog up my regular journal. Do you have a particular system that you like to use?

(Also I’ve pretty much abandoned my Whole30 because I think I’ve developed a sensitivity to eggs after eating them pretty much everyday for breakfast?? Quite random.)

    1. i kind of just keep my bullet journal for things i obsessively check or want to check off – monthly goals, my credit score, debt repayment, net worth, social media tracker, blog ideas, etc. i like it because it helps free up my regular journal a little more, and it’s much smaller so i just keep it in my purse.

and omg whole30 with a sensitivity to eggs sounds BRUTAL. on whole30 i eat eggs like EVERY DAY. i hope you are able to conquer that off of whole30. did you set any other dietary goals for the rest of the month to keep in the spirit?

      1. I like how you use your bullet journal and I think that is along the same lines of how I’m going to do mine. I have a bad habit of starting too many notebooks for things and not keeping up with them, so I like the idea of having it all in one place.

I know, right?? They’re such a staple. I’m still trying to eat pretty clean for the rest of the month, just not as strict as whole30. I haven’t added dairy/gluten back in yet, and will probably hold off because I can tell a difference of having it/not having it.
