Day 16 – Someone that’s not in your state/country

Day 16 — Someone that’s not in your state/country

Okay. I’m going to start cranking these out again, every day. I have plenty of time and could use the discipline.

This works for both someone who is not in my state and at the moment, someone who is not in my country.

Meet Shannon.

Back when MySpace was still all big, I stumbled upon her page; we had ridiculous amounts in common, so I felt it was only natural that we should be friends. She is undoubtedly one of the most loving, compassionate, brilliant people I have ever had the good fortune of knowing. She lives in Portland and she always knows neat little places to go. Plus, she was the first person who ever took me to thai food.

Right now Shannon is in Haiti. She went a few months after the earthquake; the last time I saw Shannon in the days before I moved, she told me stories about her time in Haiti. She will surely return with more stories, stories full of hope and encouragement and heartbreak and tragedy and love.

I hope that one day I can be more like Shannon. She is loving and gracious and wise.

Shannon, I love you 🙂
