Merry Christmas Eve.

This is my current view:

It’s Christmas Eve, and I’m that person that didn’t even realize it until my dad asked me yesterday if I was still going to church “tomorrow” and I said “but tomorrow is Thursday,” and he said “and tomorrow is Christmas eve.” Things have been SO BUSY the past week or so.

On Sunday, we had a dinner for the women of SAFES (Salvation Army Female Emergency Center). The kids served the meals – they did amazing… though we were all tired! The kids had all 3 meals at church on Sunday.

The next day, we provided free hair cuts to kids. One of our girls got her FIRST EVER HAIR CUT, and donated the hair to locks of love. You can’t even begin to imagine how proud of her I am!

Our gym transformed into a toy shop for kids in need. I even recruited my mini-me to come help me organize all of the pajamas!

Then we spent a very long day distributing toys/food/clothes to families in need… and I did the whole thing without coffee!! So naturally, after everyone was gone, this is what happened:

My day wasn’t even over! I still had a Christmas concert to go to.

So.

The days have been very long. and exhausting. but God is good and I’ve been embracing as much rest as I possibly can in the midst of the busy days.

If you want to help this ministry keep going, please stop by my Online Red Kettle and put even just $5 in it. We’re over here working our tails off trying to support children and families in need… not just at Christmas, but year-round, and I’d love if you could join in that.

    1. it’s the best kind of exhausting! like i haven’t been WASTING moments but have been living them to the FULLEST POSSIBLE! it’s great. and now i’m glad for a new season 😉

    1. right?! it’s a 30-year-tradition! and this year we’re going to try and do it during back to school time as well because what kid doesn’t want to go into school with a fly new ‘do?? 😉

  1. I love a church that is connected to the community and is so committed to service–and you’re a part of that! I’m so proud of you for making such a difference!!!
