On my old blog, I made a list of 20 things I will do 11 of. 20-11’s, if you will. There’s a link up at the top of my blog that I have been updating with my progress. I’m really excited to report that in the past few days, I’ve crossed off a few things on my list.
#2. Sleep in 11 different places.
Since the beginning of the year, I’ve slept in 11 different places in Washington and California. Couches, spare beds, shared beds… 11 sleeping places in 5 months? How adventurous.
#3. Read 11 books of the Bible.
I’m consuming it, y’all. It’s like awhile ago a switch was flipped in my brain and I just can’t stop reading it. The most amazing part of it to me is that it’s all Old Testament stuff. I started reading the New Testament and cannot bring myself to get past Matthew 6. I keep reading Matthew 5 & 6 over and over and over. Tonight I’ll start reading the book of Job. …and I’m not even bored. Quite the opposite, actually.
Next Sunday I will finish another one of my lists, attend 11 different churches.
Then I’ll have the really deliberate, intentional things to do. Seek people out in prayer. Keep a gratitude list each month. Make a list of places I want to go… and go. Show people I love them. Read and write about books. I’m doing great on the reading about them part, not so great on the writing about them front.
I hope to always live an intentional life; where I am pursuing being a person of love, full of grace and compassion. My life, if lived well, will constantly be moving more towards the person of Jesus Christ and the heart of God. If only it came naturally or without much thought. However, it makes those moments where I GET IT even better.
Side note: I pulled out my cozy socks to wear today and realized… they definitely are not a matching pair. they’re cozy nonetheless, so the job is done.
Uh. Not matching socks?! That’s practically criminal! 🙂
definitely thought of you when i realized it, jess 😉
If your socks were cozy, that’s all that matters. The other day I couldn’t find matching flip flops, so I just figured I would wear one brown and one black and it wouldn’t be a big deal. They are the same flip flop, just different colors. Boy oh boy was I wrong. So embarrassing. Â
