Christmas is coming…

uncategorized

This is what I’ve been staring at in my bathroom for the past two weeks or so. A little Christmas shrine. A Taylor Swift Christmas card, two Starbucks holiday mugs and a new copy of the second Glee Christmas CD. I refused to let any of them out of my bathroom until Black Friday, so as not to deny myself the giving of Thanks.After stupidly venturing to Wal-Mart at 10 pm on Thanksgiving, I decided Black Friday had officially begun and immediately did this:

So I am happy to announce to you that the Christmas season has officially begun, in case I was the groundhog you were waiting on.

But today marked an extra special beginning: the first Sunday of Advent. Advent meaning “coming.” A period of waiting and anticipating.

I want to write a lot about waiting for Jesus, but I want mostly to share with you part of my favorite passage of Scripture.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has not been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. There  came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.

Like I said, I want to write a lot about waiting for Jesus, but my thoughts are scattered and I’m not very controlled at picking my words well. So I will just encourage you to examine your hearts and think about what it looks like to wait and find ways to eliminate things that distract you from waiting on the Lord.

I got a new camera. Finally. I also got a pair of hooded and footed pajamas. Finally. Here is a picture of both.

This is a perfect time to reflect on my favorite verse for the year;

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD {Psalm 24:17}
