I can’t believe I’m doing this.
I’m going to start posting an income report. I used to have a really competitive view of bloggers… like another blogger succeeding or making money meant I had less chance of succeeding or making money, but I’ve come to identify that as being completely untrue.
If I can be honest with you, I’ve realized something. I first shared it with my friend Beckie earlier this month.
Blogging is like the ULTIMATE Pyramid Scheme. Think about it. I build up a following and a good reputation and then I use those numbers and those people to earn money for myself. It might be through a sponsored post, a link that offers a commission, a link that pays per click, or a referral incentive… any way, it literally is the ultimate pyramid scheme.
As you’re about to see, I’m nowhere near a full-time blogger. Even as a hobby blogger I might be way below the norm, but I don’t care. I find Income Reports to be the most mind-blowingly interesting things and so here you go.
Things to note: most sites have payout thresholds, so these are not all accurate in regards to money in my pocket, if that makes sense. If I happen to reach a payout, I’ll make note of it.  Also, I’m listing products I was sent either for review or simply just because. I’m also listing any gift cards, etc that I have earned from Online Influencing, though I’m not counting the ones that were won by chance as opposed to earned.

If you are hoping to start making a few dollars off your blog/social media stuff, you should join me in kind of keeping track of how you’re doing. I had NO IDEA I’d made $100, I thought it was more like $20 or $30. It will help you figure out where to put your time/energy and get creative about growing those numbers.
Woohoo! Way to go, Stephanie!
thanks susannah 🙂
You go girl! Amazon just threatened to throw me out of the affiliate program because no one has bought anything through my links. Hahaha oops!
that happened to me once… i just reapplied! i’ve not made much through them… i shared the great deal on “how to blog for profit without losing your soul” and two people bought it. but it was on sale, haha. oh well.
This is awesome Stephanie! I love reading about how other bloggers are doing, especially when it’s making a little extra money. Although it’s definitely not why I continue to blog, it gives me hope that one day I’ll be able to buy coffee or something from my blog income!
yes! i feel like blogging is just like any other hobby – it costs some money to maintain, and it’d at least be great to be able to pay for the hobby of blogging, you know? make sure you put confetti in that cup of coffee ;D
Omg your swagbucks game is ON FLEEEEK (or is that someone only east coast kids said 20 mins ago and I just dug it out of my elderly status’ bag of “things the hip kids say”???). But actually, PayPal cash from swagbucks?! I need to revisit your how to make swagbucks your BEEETCH post that had a different name than the aforementioned recalled title.
okay BUT i didn’t realize the mistake in not saying that i didn’t actually earn all $50 of the dollars in august haha. this month i MIGHT have enough to redeem for $10 through swag bucks – we’ll see. also i think i missed the on fleek train haha.
and YES to re-visiting that post (and making me realize i should have freaking linked that post to begin with! aye aye aye)
What! Look at you go!!
AW YEAH! ;D
That’s awesome! You go girl!
THANKS!! baby steps 🙂
