I’m a blogger, but I….

uncategorized

Happy Monday.
I hope you have a big cup of coffee (hopefully of the iced kind – my favorite is coconut/cashew milk coconut mocha) and a lot of grace – for you and for others. Hopefully your weekend was great and full of fun.

In honor of my 20 blog posts I’d like to read, I’m going to be real and share some true life, okay? We all know there’s some stuff that only bloggers get. and then there’s some stuff that 97% of bloggers do. I am the 3% today.

i'm a blogger, but i… // stephanieorefice.net

  • rarely have my nails painted
  • can’t figure out how to style bracelets very well
  • have never owned a pair of Hunter boots
  • have never ordered a Stitch Fix box…
  • …or a RocksBox while we’re at it.
  • don’t understand aperture or ISO AT ALL.
  • am fairly lazy about 90% of my blog stuff
  • refuse to overwhelm my instagram with hashtags to get followers
  • would never be put in charge of a bridal or baby shower
  • can’t seem to find anything cool on Thred Up
  • purchased nothing from the Nordstrom Semi-Annual sale.
  • don’t own one of those big plaid scarves.

Any of these apply to you?

Are there any you want to share??

  1. I’ve written two similar posts which I entitled, “Why I’ll Never Be Big Blogger” and it’s things like this were the reasons. I wrote it all in good fun of course but there are certian blog trends I’ll never seem to follow. Oh well right!

    1. DUHHHH of course! i forgot! that’s like one of the first blog posts of yours i EVER read. #bloggersgetreal. i feel like that should be a real hashtag or something. what are some of the trends you’re not down with???

  2. I own a big plaid scarf (my mom got us matching ones for Christmas last year) and I really can’t wait to wear it again this fall/winter. And I could totally plan a baby/bridal/whatever shower, but that’s because I like planning parties in general. The rest, I can concur with. Although, I do paint my nails fairly regularly, but that’s to stop me from biting them.

    1. i kind of want a big plaid scarf, but i’m just not really a scarf person yet! and i literally paused from that to bite my nails so i should probably get back to painting mine again soon haha.

    1. okay but please click those links to join either of them hahaha. 🙂 stitch fix seems cool in theory but SO MUCH MONEY. and i’ve not heard the best of things about selling to thred up – i think it has to be a situation where you really are wanting to donate the clothes but decide to send it there on the off chance you can make a few dollars, you know?

  3. I own a pair of Hunter boots but sadly hardly ever wear them. And I shop the Nordstrom sale every year. BUT all the rest, I agree! I see all these Instagrams (usually complete with excessive hashtags) of wrists stacked with a watch and pretty bracelets and I’m like, “Let’s do this.” So I’ve purchased a few bracelets and a watch and it’s not enough or they aren’t pretty or they don’t go together. Or I was born without the portion of the brain that controls bracelet stacking.

    1. i feel like the whole bracelet stacking thing has to be a lot more effortless than we make it. my favorite bracelets, pura vida bracelets, offer the opportunity to just buy a pack. which is brilliant but i’m way too cheap for that… and then even if i DO buy them, i’ll end up not keeping them together, you know? oh well.

aaaaaand…. I WANT HUNTER BOOTS SO FREAKING BADLY that’s all i have to say about that. <3

    1. bahaha you also shop online. and do linkups faithfully. and don’t use bloglovin. we’re like completely different species of bloggers! so i’d LOOOVE to read yours… just to see your perspective on what a blogger cliche is!

  4. All of these things are true about me except shower planner. I am an awesome party planner. I just posted about the “sadness” themed goodbye party I planned for my siblings who were heading off to college. The entire decor theme was blue sad faces and it was so cool.
I’m more of the type of blogger who wears Doc Martens than Hunters (and really, there’s a whole Doc Marten-loving crew of bloggers) but since I live in the tropics I just wear sandals and ballet flats. I do miss my Docs.
I used to paint my nails once a week when I was in beauty school but then we moved overseas over a year ago and I’ve yet to buy a bottle of nail polish in the past year. I do like painted nails, though.

    1. look at you, breaking all the blogger cliches! i love it!! i feel like i could pull off a decent party… but nobody would take pictures of it, you know? it would be more the party than the cool decorations and stuff, you know?!

  5. I’m a blogger but I ……….Never plan my post out. nope, no journal or note pad here. I just get something on my mind and write it. A lot of my post are even written as its happening or just happened.
    Love your blog!!
