Five on Friday

uncategorized

It’s been about a month since I posted  5 songs that were helping me navigate the broken. I never imagined I’d still be dealing with broken at this point. But alas here I am constantly praying that God helps me not become bitter or angry or an accepter of gifts of mean things.

A few weeks ago I posted about my friend Allie‘s wallpapers on my Five on Friday. WELL! Allie & I are teaming up this week… here are the 5 songs that I’ve been clinging to, and if you head over to Sincerely, Bugs you’ll be able to download 5 wallpapers inspired by these five songs. Because really… sometimes you need ALL the encouragement you can get, am I right or am I right?

In case you wanted a little preview, this is one of the wallpapers:

  1. First of all, I am sorry that hurt and broken is still a part of your journey, but think of 5 weeks/months/years from now, and how God will have brought you through. I’m praying for you. SECONDLY, I love music-related posts so thank you for these! And Set a Fire is my FAAAAAVORITE. Plus the video is such a challenge to worship God with my whole heart.

  2. My heart goes out to you in your brokenness….Jesus SO understands broken. He is there for you…and with you, my friend. I know these songs may not be your genre of choice, but I am a country girl…love bluegrass and southern gospel, and I wanted to share a couple of songs that are getting me through right now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xn4aojGU2As AND https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtjG3k6IiwY Both songs are sung by the Bowling Family. My family and I LOVE these people! They are precious to the core. We just saw them singing the first song live…all I could do was just bawl and send praises up to the dear Lord. Anyhow, I just wanted to share their music with you. If you get a minute, I hope you can listen to both songs and really just soak in the words…you will be blessed and comforted, I promise. 🙂

  3. Awesome list! I actually use some of these when I lead worship- No Longer Slaves and Set a Fire! Love them, and the others. SO GOOD. 🙂
