This winter has been super brutal for me. They get worse and worse each year, and I can’t imagine being able to survive through one more. Luckily I have awhile to pray for strength through the darkest nights of the year, because SPRING IS ON ITS WAY!
Some of the blogs and instagrammers I follow have been getting really spring-y, and I figured I’d try to cling to the hope of spring in any way I could.
I was at Target and got sucked in by the One spot, which is sometimes the best place in all of Target. Look at the wonderful pens I got! I especially love the way the striped/polka dot pens write.
I spent a few moments smelling… I don’t know.. maybe EVERY SINGLE SCENT OF CANDLE that Target has. I’m still burning my WINTER candle from Bath and Body Works. It’s cozy and snowy smelling and I LOVE it, but I’m ready for something light and airy and fun. Which I found in this COTTON CANDY SCENTED CANDLE. I’m waiting to burn it until my other ones run out (something I’m trying to be better at – using what I have), but I cannot wait for my room to smell like Sweetly Spun Sugar. How cute is the name, too!
and right now. I am totally in love with this Starbucks Spring blend. Not gonna lie, I bought it because the bag was so beautiful. But I’m already on my second bag, because the coffee itself is great. It’s not too dark and it’s a little tiny bit citrusy. It’s no Black Tiger, but it’s good for the $8 it costs.
I think it’s starting to work, this whole attempt at surrounding myself with spring thing. I’ve been more aware of days where there are birds singing and I’ve seen little lambs in fields I’ve driven past, and I’ve noticed the new growth of flowers in my yard each day.
and really it all leads up to the best season ever. Summer.
Because as John Mayer sings…
A little bit of summer’s what the whole year’s all about.
I think I actually like spring almost better than summer. Because when it starts to be spring, you have that hope and excitement. It is getting warmer and warmer, everything is colorful and new, and you have summer in front of you! But in summer, you know the good times are ending because winter is looming ahead.
