I’m sitting there on pinterest, repinning a bunch of stuff I’ll never do onto my “try this at home” board and food way too complex on my “mmm” board and clothes I will never look good in on my “lovely clothes” board, and THEN I SAW IT.
A recipe. For FUDGE. that involved PEANUT BUTTER. and nothing super weird. and it looked pretty easy.
I thought… I bet I can make this during the commercial breaks of MTV’s The Challenge: Rivals II (not like I actually watch that show or anything…..). I ran upstairs to get the honey and coconut oil out of my bathroom (I KNOW IT’S SO WEIRD) and got everything ready.
I’m kind of skeptical about things like this, but I stirred and poured and froze, just like the recipe said.
Initially I tried it a half an hour later, since the recipe said to wait for 10-20 minutes. It was SO SWEET I couldn’t handle it. Ridiculously sweet.
This morning I was carrying on with normal business, you know.. coloring in coloring books, showering, called my dad… then, in the middle of talking to my dad, I remembered the pan of fudge. I figured I owed it to people to follow up on it.
It was a little teeny tiny bit better, but there was way too much honey. or coconut oil. or both. Probably both. Bleh. The best part was the peanut butter swirl, but for that I could just put a spoonful of peanut butter in the freezer.
This is my conclusion: I’m glad it didn’t take a lot of time, and I’m glad there was peanut butter. But I’m never trying that again.
