To be a witness…

uncategorized

Madeleine L’Engle has given me many smiles, headaches, heartaches, thoughts, conflicts, peace and resolution. She is indeed someone I call my mentor, though she has died and I did not get to meet her prior. Her writing points me towards Christ; it is my own journey, but she is someone who always refers back to him, which has been beautiful in my times of struggling and wandering.

She has also expanded my mind to the thoughts of other thinkers. This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever read, and I saw it referenced in one of her books.. Walking on Water, I think.

To be a witness does not consist in engaging in propaganda, nor even is stirring people up, but in being a living mystery. It means to live in such a way that one’s life would not make sense if God did not exist.
