Pinterest: DIY Peel-Off Mask

uncategorized

The other morning I woke up, got dressed, made coffee, played the piano for awhile and then realized it was only 9:15. I leave for work at 11, so I felt like I had an infinity of time.

So I did what 90% of females do with any sufficient amount of spare time. I went on Pinterest. As I scrolled through the “popular” category, I came across a DIY Peel-off mask to remove blackheads. Something to know about me: I love the Biore pore strips. A sick, disturbing hobby of mine is getting really close to the mirror and very slowly peeling off the pore strips, watching the blackheads come out of my skin. It fascinates me.

When I went to the site where the mask was posted, I read in the comments that this was supposed to work just as good as the pore strips. Since I used my last pore strip last week and my nothing-but-gas month is still going on, I figured this might be a really cool alternative.

This is my conclusion: I get what the purpose of the mask is. Hypothetically, it could work really well. Maybe I just really suck at following directions (very true) but this is what the pin on pinterest advertised I would look like:

and the website offered this picture:

Let me be really clear. This is what I looked like in reality, because I could not FOR THE LIFE OF ME put a layer of egg white on top of a layer of tissue without it ripping:

Notice that I do not look as happy as the girl in the blue mask (why is it blue if it only consists of egg white and kleenex?) nor does it look like my face has been mod podged like the second picture. Liars.

However. Egg whites are known to be good for your faces because blah blah pore shrinking, oil controlling, blah blah. So my face felt very smooth afterwards. Next time I’ll skip the mess and just apply a layer of egg white for awhile. and then I’ll spend the $8 on biore pore strips.

  1. LOL I have always wondered if some of those pins I’ve accumulated acutally work! They should have a fail button for them. Once a pin gets 5 fails it should be removed!
