Day 8 — Your favorite internet friend that you’ve never met

Technically it is August 25th, which means this is day 9. However, I have yet to go to sleep for the evening, so I’m going to count this. You should too.

This one is a no brainer, my favorite internet friend I’ve never met.

Krystin. Freaking. Behannon.

Quick synopsis: Krystin & I met on Twitter. We e-mailed each other a few times, and by the second e-mail I’d received from her, our e-mails had turned into mini-novels, sometimes taking HOURS to respond to. She loves Jesus. That is one undeniable fact that I think anyone who encounters her comes to understand quickly.

The rest of this post will be an open letter to one Krystin Behannon, my favorite internet friend I have never met. Fall in love with her through my adoration!

Dearest Krystin,

If more people in the world were like you, I’d be more of a people person. Though it has been a very long while since either of us has really been at a place to keep this going, our novele-mails were the highlights of my day. The more e-mails we sent, the more compatible we became – not just in a friendship chemistry, but also in a shared vulnerability. If I were to ever need some serious accountability, you are the person I would go to, undoubtedly.

You are so obvious and straight forward about your love for people, and it’s not hard to tell that people in turn love you back. If I had to hand out a “Most loved person” award.. it would go to you. and I don’t even know any of your friends. It’s all just from Facebook stalki.. being observant. 🙂

I am glad you are in Nashville. I am glad it’s not being easy on you, but I am mostly glad that you can offer praises and assurances of faith to the Lord despite your frustrations and bumps in the road. It encourages me, and as I am preparing to follow in your footsteps to My Nashville, I feel so fortunate that we are on the same path together and you can share in my fears, excitement, and trust.

Thank you for being real and for being honest. I’m so excited for the day when we can drink coffee and laugh and cry and dive deep into the mysteries of our Father together.

When God made you, he was showing off some of the best stuff he has to offer. and he was showing me his infinite blessings when he allowed our paths to cross.

So here’s to a lifetime of friendship, hopefully soon one that will no longer allow you to be classified as my favorite internet friend that I have never met.

I love you!
Love, Stephanie.

  1. Are you TRYING to kill me? Crying like a baby over here. But seriously, those words were amazing, so appreciated, and somehow very undeserved. Take out my name and put in yours and know its exactly how I feel about you…this is why we work so well: all the words that come out like a jumbled mess from my mouth are so well put together from yours. I love you so much and will hopefully see you this spring!!! Yay!!!
