Magical May: Disneyland Hotel and World of Color

uncategorized

In honor of I Am Mrs. K’s blog challenge being “Magical May” and the fact that I went to Disneyland and the fact that I suck at updating my blog regularly…. I’m going to have an ongoing discussion about how much I love Disneyland, okay? Here is the beginning. 🙂

Last May, my mom and I went to Disneyland. We stayed at the Paradise Pier hotel on the Disney property, and my mom filled out a comment card and said she was disappointed in the hotel because we usually stay at the Disneyland Hotel and she missed the magic of the real thing.

Disney contacted my mom and they gave her a pretty sweet discount on a night at the Disneyland Hotel. We realized it was close to expiring, so we hopped on a plane for a whirlwind day and a half at Disneyland.

We arrived on Thursday around noon so we left our bags and raced over to Disneyland, where we renewed our annual passes and GOT DOWN TO BUSINESS.

Shortly after I posted that picture I got a text message from my friend Aleen, who was also at Disneyland! So we went and said a very quick hello.

Then we checked into our hotel. When we got there, a woman named Sierra walked us to our room and checked us in. Then! She asked us if we wanted anything like special viewings to shows or anything, and we asked if we could maybe get spots for World of Color and the Fireworks shows. She HOOKED. US. UP.

Have you guys ever seen World of Color? Because holy crap. I like cry my eyes out because how do you make something so beautiful out of WATER and LIGHTS?

Anyway. The normal World of Color experience is crammed together with a bunch of other people, standing for a few hours.

But like I said. Sierra HOOKED. US. UP. With Preferred Guest seating. We got a bench.

So then. When we got to the hotel, you know what those wonderful Disneyland Hotel fairies did? They left us cookies. and milk. and chocolates. and they turned down our beds for us. No joke. NO. JOKE. Then we found out they had even left us STRAWS. FOR THE MILK! Again. NO JOKE.

The turned down bed was my favorite part!

Disneyland itself is wonderful, and the way that the Disneyland Resort went so completely out of their way to make sure we were satisfied and happy was nothing short of magical. They treated us like absolute royalty and went above and beyond the expectations we had, and all because my mom mentioned she was disappointed in her stay at Paradise Pier.

Have you ever stayed at the Disneyland Hotel? Have you ever seen World of Color?
