Goodbye, 2013

Last year on December 28th, I sat down and created a pretty intense plan to cross off a bunch of things on my 101 in 1001 list. I made goals for every month and started plowing through them. I had hoped to cross off 46 things from my list, but I was only able to finish 17, which I’ve crossed off of the list below.

When I made my goals, I had no idea how different things would be a year in the future. This fall/winter has hit me HARD. My depression has been out of control ever since the summer left, and I’ve had to learn extending grace to myself. That said, I took October off from recipe/flower/portraiting and decided instead to finish it with a 12th month in January. Because this is my thing and ultimately, I control the shots. and that said I don’t want some huge list of excuses right here. Because I accomplished 17 things I would have never accomplished if I hadn’t been intentional about it. And I did some tough ones, like the 1,000 words a day and the spending nothing but gas money for a month!

I already made realistic goals for 2014, and I’m not scheduling monthly posts for them. By the middle of the year I had lost the notebook with all of my goals in them and forgot that they were auto posted on my blog until a week into the month.

2013 was a very good year to me. I got a full time job working with kids at my church, I finally bought a new camera (which I still don’t know how to use… but I’m trying!) and car and computer. I finally visited Nashville and skipped my 10 year reunion and bought a pair of adventure shoes. I am grateful every day for another day on the earth, and look forward to another year of growing and gracing.

  1. Hey, I say if you can mark at least 3 things off a list, you’re good 🙂
I’m writing my Resolution list… we’ll see where that stands Dec 2014 🙂
