{27-29/365} few days of friendship

uncategorized

My friend Justin played with Tyrone Wells on Sunday. I always forget how much I love Tyrone, and I’m not sure why. I got a copy of Justin’s new CD, and it’s fantastic. I drove home and felt very at peace. It’s been awhile since I really felt that deep in my heart.

Monday we went to the Tillamook Cheese Factory, where I fell head over heels in love with SMOKED CHEESE. I seriously went back through the sample line and wasn’t even ashamed to take like 5 blocks of the smoked cheddar cheese.

After standing on the beach for awhile, we went to Mo’s for some delicious seafood. The clam chowder.. so good.

If you’re friends with me on Facebook, you’ll notice that I’ve suddenly had a lot to say in the matters of friendship. Yesterday was an A+ day in the realm of friendships.

I got coffee with my friend Denise, who is a woman I look up to so much. She is inspiring and a woman of great faith.

My friends Aaron and Danielle are getting married, and I’m going to play the piano for them. I went to Beacocks to pick up some music, and to make a long story short.. the girl who works there, Tracy, let me borrow her huge wedding piano book! We exchanged e-mails and I am so grateful for her generosity to a complete stranger.

After I got home, I took advantage of Virgin’s REALLY GREAT 1-day only sale on flights. I mean ridiculously great sale. So next Saturday I’ll be back with my friends in Southern California. I’ll be able to go to the Welcome of Cadets, when all of the people entering the Salvation Army’s seminary get celebrated. One of my best friends and her husband went in this year. As soon as she saw my post on Facebook about it, she called me.

So I spent an hour on the phone with Sarah, and that was so great. It was good to hear what she’s been learning and how she’s been challenged already. NEXT WEEK I will get to see her.

Every morning when I wake up, I have to give myself a pep talk. Anybody else do this? Like, “Stephanie.. you can do this. You can get out of bed. Just move one leg out from under the covers, that’s the first step. The sooner you just get it over with, the sooner you can start living the day. You got this. Think about all of the great things waiting for you when you get out of bed.”

Today I slept in until 8:30… and it’s 10:47 and I’m still in my bed, in my pajamas.

But there’s a lot of great things waiting for me when I get out of bed. So here’s to today.
