“Change of Plans” Review.

uncategorized

“Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.”

Isn’t it strange to think that as we are going about our lives, dreaming and pursuing our dreams, we are forfeiting plenty of open doors that could hold really great surprises. Life goes on day after day like one foot in front of another, and we never peer into open doors or sneak peaks at what we might have instead.

Last night my roommate and I watched a preview of Fox Family Movie Night’s newest TV movie, Change of Plans, and that’s what the movie is all about. Two people who are going about their lives, pursuing their dreams and living to the fullest capacity they can imagine, and life as they know it comes to a screeching halt when they are shoved in one of those open door opportunities.

Starring American Idol alumnus Brooke White, it’s a movie about grace and stopping and newness. The children are brilliant and while the storyline is slightly predictable in what happens, there’s wiggle room to discover how it all comes to be. It is heart-warming and perhaps an unnamed roommate of mine shed a tear at the part where your heart swells and you feel like flying because suddenly everything has resolved perfectly.

I also discovered that Focus on the Family has a downloadable discussion guide for families, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Change of Plans airs tomorrow, January 8th, at 8/7 C on Fox. Watch the trailer here, and then tune in tomorrow. and then tell me what you thought.
