TWOsday v14

TWOsday // stephanieorefice.net

Happy TWOsday, y’all! For the first time in forever (did you sing that??) I’m actually on top of things and I’m not posting this halfway through the day. I’ll give you a minute to go get my trophy inscribed and put it in the mail.

and then I’ll give you a minute to link up your TWOsday post because you KNOW that having a prompt that requires you to do nothing but write two completely random things is freaking brilliant (also accepting trophies for that one).

ONE // ONE OF MY BEST THRIFT STORE FINDS EVER.

You. guys.
I love thrifting. It’s like treasure hunting.
You know how I’ve been intensely going through all the things I own and getting rid of them?
It’s all cool and stuff until you find that YOU HAVE NO SHOES TO WEAR (that’s a total first world problem, you guys. I definitely have shoes). So I decided that I’d allow myself to keep an eye out for a few pairs of versatile shoes. You know, that would go good with tons of outfits.

A few weeks ago I was at Goodwill…
and there…
on the top rack of one row of shoes…
were these almost brand new Sperry wedges.
HEARTS. OUT. OF. MY. FREAKING. EYES.
AND. NOSE. AND EARS. BECAUSE AHHHH!!!!

So yes, now I own them. They were $13, which is more than I usually pay for stuff at thrift stores but COME ON!!!! Every time I wear them people go “CUTE SHOES!!!” which reassures me that $13 was totally worth it, especially since their initial retail value was $130.

I found you some similar booties, some that are closer to $13 than $130, including these TOMS ones that are so cute I kind of died a little bit.

TWO // CONSUMABLE GIFTS PART 2

Last week I wrote about a few ways to save money/avoid clutter/etc this Christmas. I posted a $0 gift guide full of ways to give experiences instead of THINGS. and last TWOsday I wrote about giving consumable gifts… like soaps and food and coffee.

_______ wrote about giving a movie night basket, which I LOVE! Pair that with a “PJ MOVIE NIGHT” gift and you have a consumable AND experiential gift. BOOM.

But what about a tea or a coffee basket, too? I received this Tea Lover’s Gift Pack, and it was brilliant – literally all I had to do was open the box, unwrap the tissue paper, shove it in the bag and you’re done. This comes with the right stuff for a tea lover – a mug that says tea all over it, butter cookies and a variety pack of tea. It also comes with a pack of mini Tootsie Rolls which I thought were completely random and maybe I’m missing something but they definitely don’t scream “TEA LOVER,” but because it didn’t come already put together, I wasn’t stuck giving a completely random pack of tootsie rolls to the recipient of this gift.

You could definitely make a cheaper version of this on your own, but it would definitely be a good fix for a last-minute, crowd-hating shopper.

But now I’m totally on the gift basket bandwagon and have spent oodles of time on Pinterest and want to share with you all the things I found. You’re welcome, and I’m still over here waiting for my trophy.
