Last week I was SO DETERMINED to do a TV Talk show on Friday even though I was in Nashville… but at the end of the day, I wanted to sit with my friends and laugh at the twins and not even worry about it… so I didn’t worry about it.
HOWEVER. Now I’m back and I am ready to discuss these crazy shows.
#1. The Bachelor
I have been waiting what feels like FOREVER to watch The Bachelor with Kristen, since we discuss it via text afterwards anyway. As a sweet bonus surprise, Layla curled up right next to me on the couch. Lucy wanted to join us and Layla got upset and complained that her sister was bothering her and she just wanted to be alone with Snephanie. I melted.
Okay but onto the crazy women on TV. I was all about Kelsey. I really really liked her and I thought she seemed so sweet and genuine and nice… but the whining on the lake/camping trip? Girl, get OVER yourself.
Kristen and I thought FOR SURE that Chris was going to deflower virgin Ashley and that’s what all of the overdramatic promos in the beginning were about… but no. But speaking of virgins. When whats her name said that she was a virgin as well, I was SO PROUD OF HER. She was so classy about it – not using it as a selling point or a constant topic of conversation. It makes sense, since she was pretty clear about not wanting to just be one of a zillion girls kissing Chris… but man, I can’t even remember her name and I hope she sticks around for awhile.
Britt calling Chris out about his feelings for Kaitlyn? Super weird. Super super weird. I actually tried justifying it and realized that I couldn’t. Hopefully she realized that she signed up for a show where she is weirdly one of a bunch of beautiful women dating a handsome man. Maybe she’s living in a fairy tale.
SPEAKING OF FAIRY TALES! THE DATE BETWEEN CHRIS AND JADE!!! So sweet. The blatant placement for the new Cinderella movie was ultra annoying, but the girl getting a fairy tale make over and having a quiet dinner and beautiful two-person ball? So sweet. Jade seems SO SWEET and I like her SO MUCH but I can’t see her with Chris. Maybe because I’m all in with Chris and Whitney. Like… have fun everyone else but unless Whitney goes absolutely insane or something, my bet is on her.
And the way Chris walked Juelia (or however you spell it) out after not giving her a rose… made up for some of the points he lost by being a floozy with his kisses.
#2. Real World’s The Challenge: Battle of the Exes 2
Hi um what a freaking WEIRD challenge that was. Cover yourself in paint, transfer it to the other person and then have them color in squares. Wasn’t really feeling it. Speaking of not feeling it, the Jay/Jenna and Zack/Jonna partner swap thing is really creeping me out. I can’t imagine seeing a person and being like “your ex is hooking up with my ex, so I guess we should hook up.” WHAT. What kind of weird logic is that? MTV contestants. This show is so weird, those people are so weird… and yet I just can’t stop watching.
#3. The Real World: Skeletons
Didn’t there used to be a rule on The Real World that if you got in a physical altercation, you had to go home? How is it that someone could straight up STRANGLE another person and then they move on like nothing has happened? I really like the girl, Sylvia, who lost her temper… but still. What happened to that rule? That said. There was a moment when they all gathered around their cups of alcohol and said “DIRTY THIRTY!!!” and I realized they meant 30th season of the Real World and I realized… none of them were alive when the first season of The Real World aired. What the Real World used to be was SO COOL – seeing people from completely different places in life try to live together and understand each other. They were all so incredibly different, and now they’re all pretty similar. I don’t usually watch The Real World, so I don’t think I will after this season. For the record, The Real World: Hawaii was the first season I remember watching. I was 14. I have been fascinated by this show for over half my life. Weird.
#4. Criminal Minds
PLEASE GIVE MATTHEW GRAY GUBLER ALL OF THE AWARDS FOR EVERYTHING. When Spencer Reid cries, I cry. He is basically the emotional control for all of CM watchers around the world.
And BEN SAVAGE as a young Gideon! I never liked Gideon. Ever. But Ben Savage as a young Gideon in flashbacks… now THAT I’m down with. And I loved when he said “unknown subject” and then they agreed on coining the term “signature.” so cute.
Can I just say how weird this is — I watch people KILL other people on Criminal Minds ALL THE TIME and I watch Hannibal where they guy is a freaking sicko…. but watching this unsub kill a baby bird made me cry. #priorities
#5. Law & Order: SVU
I don’t think there was a new episode. If there was, I missed it everywhere.
