4 ingredient Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Anybody else find themselves stress baking these days? I’ve always thought baking was a great stress-release (remember when Izzy Stevens got the big check from Denny on Grey’s Anatomy and couldn’t stop baking? It’s real), and these days I am constantly preheating the oven.

The other day I was standing in the kitchen thinking about what to stress bake. Not regular bake, but stress bake, mind you. I’m running low on baking soda, didn’t have any softened butter and felt like my options were a little bit limited.

Then I remembered that I know how to make peanut butter chocolate chip cookies that are SO EASY it’s stupid. Think I’m joking? Read on.

4 ingredient peanut butter chocolate chip cookies


  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • handful of chocolate chips (optional)

Preheat the oven to 350. Mix the sugar, peanut butter and egg until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips. Scoop out a tablespoon of batter, rolled it into a ball and then flatten it on the cookie sheet. Honestly it’s mostly a preference of cookie size. Ours ended up being on the smaller size – they don’t expand a lot in the oven, so you can adjust accordingly!

Bake for about 8 minutes. Let them cool for 5 minutes on the cookie sheet, then transfer to a cooling rack. It’s really important to let them cool because they will be crumbly! I ended up with a bunch of halved cookies because I thought I could just let them cool on the cooling rack. Learn from my mistake, let them cool on the cookie sheet!

    Ohh! Yum! These look and sound so good! I might have to give these a try. They sound simple to make and it’s great that they don’t use flour as we’re struggling to get it too x

    I will have to make these for the kids (and me, who am I kidding! Haha). I love cookies that use PB because it sneaks in some protein!!!
