Have you guys ever heard the John Mayer song “Wildfire”? It’s one of my favorite songs, and it includes one of the biggest truths of the summer: A little bit of summer’s what the whole year’s all about. Nailed it, John.
I love summer. and sun. and sandals. and iced mochas. Living in the Pacific Northwest, we have super weird weather. The morning chill can burn off in the blink of an eye and suddenly you’re wishing you hadn’t worn a cardigan or that you had  a tank top on under your t-shirt. The struggle.
As someone who wears my hair down, that also means that my hair gets two things: hot and frizzy. Sounds really cute, right? I’ve started to realize that the time I spend doing my hair in the morning could be in vain if the weather turns and my hair is thrown into a messy bun (literally a messy bun, we’re not talking the cute Pinterest messy bun thing) OR if it gets frizzy.
So I have created an on-the-go summer hair essentials kit to help me keep my hair looking super fly (yes I just did) during the hot days of summer.

Elastic headbands (one fancy, one practical), barrettes, bobby pins, a comb AND a travel brush, hair ties (I found these awesome big, sturdy elastic ones at Walmart!) and of course a smoothing oil to help keep the frizz to a minimum.

My FAVORITE easy up do is to take a headband and place it on your head (over your hair) and then pull up and tuck the rest of your hair in, throughout the back of the headband. It’s like doing “no-heat curls,” but not so tight! That way your hair still has a wavy (frizz-free thanks to the Whole Blends Smoothing Oil) look to it when you take it down.
