5 ways to sleep well when you’re on your period.

This post has been sponsored by Kotex. I was provided the product in return for my honest opinion. All opinions are my own.

IF YOU ARE A BOY: GO AWAY.
THIS POST IS GIRLS ONLY.
TRUST ME.

Let me tell you a story. A true story. That happened a few years ago. To me.

I woke up in the middle of the night. and got out of bed. and realized… I’d started my period. I was disoriented and tired and frustrated. Because it wasn’t like “oh I think I started my period,” it was like… I STARTED MY PERIOD AND EVERYTHING KNEW ABOUT IT. If you catch my drift.

So I did what any sane, normal grown up would do.

I started crying. and woke my mom up. and I kept saying “this isn’t supposed to happen to me, this isn’t supposed to happen to me.”

You guys, I was like… 25. This isn’t like a rookie mistake, I was a GROWN. UP.

Since then, I’ve been terrified of sleep and my period. Here’s another thing I’m scared of: TSS. Have you heard of it? I read about it in Seventeen magazine when I was younger and since then I’ve feared high absorbency tampons while I sleep (TOLD YOU THIS WAS GIRLS’ ONLY! IF YOU’RE A BOY AND YOU’RE STILL READING: GO AWAY!!). I swear to you, if anyone in the whole entire world were to die because they wore a tampon to bed… IT WOULD BE ME.

This is where Kotex comes in. I was given the very relevant opportunity to try out their line of pads. I went to the store, spent a long time debating over which ones to try (a mom of a young boy told him to stop staring at me because I was so intrigued by all of the pads, no joke) and then as soon as I noticed “overnight,” I was like “THIS IS THE ONE!” I almost told the boy which ones I chose, but I didn’t think his mom would like that too much.

Listen, here’s the thing. When I say it’s a relevant opportunity, I mean… I BOUGHT THEM ON THE FIRST DAY OF MY PERIOD. No joke. That morning, this text was exchanged between myself and Mary-Keith.

Anyway. Periods suck, and I’ve spent most of my life getting terrible sleep while I’m on mine. But now thanks to Kotex, I can sleep soundly knowing that I am covered.

Here are a few ways that you can get a good night’s sleep while attempting to survive your monthly lava flow however you should not forget about the new cbd products, for example  CBN Capsules from FluxxLab™ are great for sleep and relaxation. When it comes to buying CBD oil, there are various options available to users. One of the most convenient methods of purchasing CBD products is to go online and cannablossom is not the exception, cannablossom offers you top shelf cannabis flowers, fresh edibles and more options for your needs. There are a variety of synthetic medications to help you get better quality sleep. However, they have side effects such as constipation, stomach pain, migraines, nausea, or changes in appetite. This is why more and more people are turning to natural remedies. Kratom, a great unknown in Europe until recently, is a tropical plant that has proven to have very beneficial properties for those who want to get a good quality sleep and avoid most of the side effects that accompany synthetic medicine. For quality Kratom capsules visit kratommasters.com, they have quality products and exceptional customer service.

THREE // TEA

Warm drinks before bedtime ALWAYS help me unwind, but the thought of warm and rich drinks like hot chocolate make me feel gross. Dairy makes you bloated. and your period makes you feel bloated and disgusting and a zillion other things. Skip it all and go straight for a mug of cozy tea.

FOUR // LAVENDER EVERYTHING
Lavender is known for being a sleep aid. So how about this DIY Lavendar Coconut Body Creme? Or this Lavender Body Butter? Lavender infused socks, lavender tea, lavender chocolate, lavender spray… just freaking sleep in a bed of lavender.

FIVE // CHOCOLATE
Let’s be real. You’re on your period. You want to sleep. JUST EAT A BITE OF CHOCOLATE. IT’S AN OKAY THING TO DO, I PROMISE. Mary, one of my FAVORITE bloggers, recently posted this delicious looking recipe for THIN MINT PUPPY CHOW. Perfect because you can get your chocolate fix without having to eat a whole candy bar in bed. Not that any of us ever do that, right? 😉
