10 things that make me happy

Posted on 0

One of my May Goals was to take photos of 10 different things that make me happy as part of my 101 in 1001 list. I’m rounding up those 10 photos right here. Hopefully they’ll make you happy too 😀

We were walking around our neighborhood the other day and I saw this plant that IMMEDIATELY reminded me of a unicorn. It is the perfect start to my pictures of happy things because I cannot get over how happy this plant makes me.

Any day where Space Mountain fast passes are involved 🙂

Finally taking my rose gold ears to Disneyland… and capturing this great picture of a stranger and his girl.

This is Justen sharing my Poshmark closet for me. Almost completely out of nowhere, Justen got really into working on my Poshmark closet in his free time.

My new River Maiden shirt! I have 0 shirts from local coffee shops, and I was so excited to buy this. River Maiden had a pretty rough year this past year, and I’m proud to be a customer of theirs <3

I spent MONTHS trying to find these Sam & Libby sandals on the internet. I finally found them on Poshmark and bought them and I am SO GLAD I did. The big huge bows just make my freaking day. Also my distressed embellished jeans were like $11 at JC Penney, which ALSO makes me happy.

Piles and piles of Poshmark packages really make me happy. I look at this and I get dollar signs in my eyes because this is my JOB, y’all. How unreal. It makes me so happy.

My new pajamas! Halfway through the month I developed a pretty severe, distressing eye twitch. It was on and off all day for over two weeks. at one point we called the advice nurse who gave us a bunch of suggestions, one of which was to allow myself to oversleep. While we were out, I bought a new pair of pajamas and an eye mask and really started to take the whole oversleeping thing seriously. HOW CUTE is the print on these pjs, y’all?

Freaking PEONIES! I picked these up at Trader Joe’s, but I’m just all the heart eyes over peonies and I’m on a mission to figure out how I can keep them alive forever and make a bed out of them. I guess that’s a bit extreme but hey that’s me.

Starbucks Happy Hour with my Justen. We’re not frapuccino people, but when they’re half off then sure. We walked the 1/2 a mile down to Safeway to get these and enjoy the warm afternoon.

My camera roll was full of more moments and photos of things that make me happy and THAT made me even happier. 😀

March 2018

This year I’m documenting what happens one little month at a time. It’s on my 101 list and it’s fun to keep track of what we’re doing. I’m sure that in years to come we’ll look back on the little details and be happy that we can remember them 🙂 Cheers to that.

Friday Mood | January 26, 2018

Posted on 11

WELCOME TO FRIDAY, Y’ALL!

We made it! We did it! and y’all I am FEELING this Friday. I’ve been babysitting overnight for 4 of the last 7 nights and I’m ready to sleep in my own bed and press my ice cold feet against Justen’s legs because he’s legally bound to me and has to put up with me. Marriage is awesome.

So anyway. This is the Fridayest Friday I’ve Fridayed through in a while.

FRIDAY MOOD // stephanieorefice.net

I figured I’d share some of the stuff I’ve been collecting in my phone to share with people. Like… hey, y’all can be my people. You kind of are.

First. Let’s start with pretty much the most WTF thing I’ve seen in a REALLY LONG TIME.

FRIDAY MOOD // stephanieorefice.net

The other day I saw a girl doing a Facebook live video of her preparing her baby’s placenta. It was actually a video of her with her baby’s placenta. I was like… what in THE WORLD could someone be doing with their baby’s placenta? Stupid me and my stupid curiosity, I hit up google. I’m actually judging you if you’ve done this, just saying.

FRIDAY MOOD // stephanieorefice.net

A few weeks ago I left my keys at the coffee shop. When I walked back in, I realized how easy it is to identify my keys because I can be like “oh yeah, it has a mary-kateandashley keychain.” I’m super used to it and suddenly I realized how funny my keychain is. Also, I absolutely bid on (and obviously won) that keychain on eBay.

True story: about a month into dating, I thought I left my keys at a restaurant. I was panicking and remember watching Justen calmly call the restaurant and explain that we were looking for keys with a mary-kateandashley keychain with Disney Princess shoes and I thought… yeah, I think I might marry him. haha.

Real life photo of my hair this winter… anyone else feeling this? Actually my hair kind of always looks like that.

Yeah, let’s talk about how Printable Happies CONTINUES to be my spirit animal. Like… yes. everything about this. Counting down the days until we go to Nashville (31!!!!!) AND until we’re off of our no spend month so I can buy this bad boy.

Hello did y’all know that Amazon has giveaways? because they do. and on the day I discovered it, I ACTUALLY WON SOMETHING! and not something ultra lame either, I won these earrings that I actually love! I’ve not won anything since, but whatever!

I literally hate pizza, but Justen loves it, so we decided to make pizza. My half was the olive half, and when Justen presented me a piece it was a bunch of sauce and very minimal cheese and I literally lost it. I held it together for like four minutes and then I spent the next two hours crying about how Justen didn’t put cheese to the edge of the pizza. Let’s talk about how fun it must be being married to me. blonde shrug emoji

There’s all that. Happy Friday. Drop me something random in the comments below!

Cozy winter movie nights with WinCo pizza and Coca-Cola®

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, INC. and The Coca-Cola Company, all opinions are mine alone. #WinCoPizzaNight #CollectiveBias

Is it just me, or does it seem like the days go by faster once the sun starts setting earlier? Suddenly it’s “night time” at 4 pm and it’s hard for me to want to do ANYTHING once the sun goes down.

Pair that with being a newlywed whose husband takes on an overtime project and making dinner when he gets home + eating it + cleaning up after dinner is LITERALLY followed by pajamas and bed. Y’all, that has been our glamorous life. When people ask how married life is going for us we’re like IDK we really don’t see each other that often.

Luckily, we make time to try and get time to slow down. We’ve adjusted our language from not “having time” to not “making time,” because we have as many hours in the day as Beyonce, according to Pinterest. Anyway!

On my 101 in 1001 list is a goal to watch a bunch of movies Justen wants me to watch, one of them being A Christmas Story! We made time by picking up a WinCo pizza and Coca-Cola® (for him) and a Diet Coke (for me)!  Really, is there any better way to pair pizza than with Coca-Cola?!

WinCo (follow them on Facebook and Pinterest!) is an employee-owned company with consistently low prices. Their Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat (ilovewinco) are full of behind the scenes and employee stories, which I LOVE. They limit their advertising, which helps them pass that savings on to their customers! Cozy nights in that don’t break the bank? Double win. The cozy night savings go even further. Save $1 when you buy any WinCo Pizza and (2) 2-Liter Coca-Cola Beverages (in-store coupon offer Ends 2/28/18)! We picked up a take and bake pizza at the deli and grabbed our Coca-Cola on our way to check out.

We popped in the pizza, got on our pajamas and queued up A Christmas Story. The pizza was done just in time, and thanks to our festive paper plates + cups, there were ZERO dishes to do afterwards! Which meant that we got to spend the rest of the night all cozied up, watching the movie.

Here’s the thing, y’all. It’s not about not having time. It’s not that we don’t have enough time to make memories or spend quality time or pause life, it’s that we don’t MAKE time to do those things.

If you live near a WinCo (check their site for store locations), pick up one of their deli pizzas (you can even get them HOT and READY TO GO!) grab a bottle of Coca-Cola and make time to have a night with someone you love.

Also – if you had a list of MUST WATCH movies for your spouse or best friend, what would be on them?

From the Drafts: Dollar.

One of the things on my list of 101 things to do in 1001 days is to clean up my blog’s Drafts folder. Sometimes I write blogs and never go back to putting pictures in them or actually hitting “publish” so you might see them sneaking in 🙂 We’ve been holding hands for 669 days now and even each wear rings on them. Somehow the dollar joke wore off, but I’m going to be bringing it back because it was sweet. 🙂

Update: still loving every day I get to spend with Justen Martian.

So far we’ve spent 210 (8/15) days of this year holding each other’s hand, and it’s great.

Except.

Sometimes, y’all. Sometimes he reaches for my hand at the most AWKWARD and inconvenient times. Like I’ll be holding my phone in my hand, and he’ll reach to grab my hand. or when my hand is in my pocket. I decided that it was becoming such an issue that he needed to pay me a dollar every time he awkwardly reached for my hand.

Often, we will be going about our day, strolling around Target or walking to a coffee shop or something like that. and my hand will be in my purse, feeling around for gum, and he’ll attempt to grab that hand.

and I’ll simply say “dollar.”

When I’m cold, I keep my hands tucked inside of my jacket sleeves. and he tries to hold my hand.

Dollar.

When I’m scratching my leg.

Dollar.

Right as I’m about to get up.

Dollar.

He doesn’t actually pay me a dollar, but it’s still fun. Plus he buys me coffee and dinner and puts up with me so he owes me literally nothing.

Do y’all have any cute little quirks about your relationship?
