I spent the last evening of 2013 at camp with my friends. They listened to me talk, we laughed and ate and drank delicious espresso beverages. Ellen and William ran around and said silly things, and Rhoda came over for a bit. My phone didn’t have any reception or internet and it was wonderful to not be concerned with it; everything I needed was right there in front of me.
It is a blessing to find people who make every moment magical.
There was no better way to spend the first few days of 2014. While I do not anticipate a new year with unrealistic expectation or a sigh of relief to leave the year behind, I am grateful for another calendar year on the earth. Especially when my days look like this:
