Song #30 Lover, You Should’ve Come Over by Jeff Buckley
The minute I realized Lover, You Should’ve Come Over wasn’t on my list I almost had a heart attack because this is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful songs ever written.. in the entire world, ever.
If you’ve never heard of Jeff Buckley, I am so so so so so so sorry. When I’m looking through people’s CD collections I automatically look for Jeff Buckley’s Grace. It really determines whether I give someone’s CD collection a stamp of approval or if I kind of look away in shame.
Lover, You Should’ve Come Over sounds like a heartbreak. Not even just the lyrics, but the entire mood of the song. The song starts with the worlds “Looking out the door, I see the rain fall upon the funeral mourners”… and that’s what this song reminds me of. Rain.
This song is my light-the-candles, lay-with-my-head-hanging-over-the-side-of-the-bed, watch-the-raindrops-fall-up-the-window song. One of my all-time favorites. I only listen to it in the car if the sky is gray. I’m listening to it right now and I’m wishing it would start raining on my window, because it’s hard to not have the gentle pounding of rain on the window in the background of this song.

Okay, now that we have that out of the way. John Legend is SO TALENTED. I cannot even handle it.
People usually know the song Ordinary People, and I always like to play the song Number One for people because it starts with the line “You can’t say I don’t love you just because I cheat on you.” I think that is funny. … and sad, but funny.
I’m a sucker for well-written bridges. This song has one of my favorite bridges, with a lot going on.
Oh, and the music video?
AWESOME. Kanye West is in it, and he’s a preacher.
and you guys should see the kind of dancing that goes on in my room when this song comes on.
You know how I got my Halloween costume? I was completely fine with my halloween costume until I saw this picture of what some of the Glee Cast went as….
…and so now I feel like the costume from the store is LAME. I will go decorate some sugar cookies while preparing to my cry myself to sleep because my Halloween costume isn’t clever.
