One of my things on my 101 in 1001 list is to document an ordinary day in pictures. I’ve kind of had this dumb idea in my head that I’d bring my DSLR everywhere and take really fancy pictures of my life. WRONG. I’m not that kind of person. But on March 31st, armed with my iPhone, I documented what a typical Thursday is like in my life. Fasten up, people. Let’s go for a ride.

ONE // 6:55 AM
It had been almost MONTHS since I’d been to my Thursday morning Bible Study. After running into two of the ladies at church on Easter, I realized how much I missed them and decided to wake up STUPID EARLY so I’d have NO EXCUSE to not be there.

TWO // DUTCH RUN
Sunny days mean iced coffee, and that’s not something I can brew up quickly for myself. so I threw on a jacket and flip flops and headed for an early morning Dutch run.

THREE // FLOWERS!
Ugh I love spring. and flowers. and sunny days. My house has a lot of flowers.

FOUR // FUEL
I decided to tackle some big projects in my room armed with my iced soy cocomo…. like….

FIVE // LAUNDRY
Literally weeks of laundry. I kept finding clothes I forgot I loved. It was amazing and kind of like my birthday, except the whole having to do laundry part of it. But luckily I got my clothes all put away.

SIX // DUMB
then I made a dumb decision. I decided “I’ll take off the nail polish on my toes,” without stopping to think that in doing that, I’d also mess up the nails on my fingers which I’m trying to keep painted to help me stop biting them. oh well. I took off the nail polish on my fingers and now I’m back to biting my nails again. Life goes on.

SEVEN // I WOKE UP LIKE THIS
You guys, this is what I look like after being awake for like an hour. MORNINGS ARE SO HARD!!!

EIGHT // OFF TO BIBLE STUDY
I instagrammed this picture because that top was like $5.47 from Old Navy and I love it. Necklace is Juicy Couture, pants are Mossimo (which I got brand new at Goodwill for $7 so there ya go) and the sandals are the ones I wrote about here from JustFab. Iced Cocomo is from Dutch Bros duh 😉

NINE // ???
So I always go to Bible study late. They have a big group gathering then we break into small groups. I like sleep, so I just show up for small group. But I literally couldn’t remember which room my small group was in. I FELT SO DUMB. But then it turned out we met upstairs anyway. But still. I stood there for awhile looking dumb, wandering up and down the hall looking in all the empty rooms for something familiar.

TEN // READING
I took the time waiting for everyone to get dismissed to keep reading my friend Lisa‘s book. If you remember, she took over my blog right when the book was released and I’ve been SO LAZY and haven’t even read it yet!

ELEVEN // PIANO
My small group had a really intense, open discussion and I felt so excited in my spirit that I spent time playing the piano. Which rarely happens. and there was a cool rainbow that came through the window.

TWELVE // LUNCH
DO YOU GUYS KNOW ABOUT GROCERY OUTLET? It’s amazing! I found these bomb gluten free frozen lunches that are like $4 at Target for $1.50 so heck YES I bought a bunch. I caught up on the previous night’s Catfish because that’s a super important part of my life.

THIRTEEN // MON AMI
Stopped by Mon Ami for coffee on my way to work. How CUTE is this place?!

FOURTEEN // ICED COCO-MO!
Iced cocomos from Dutch Bros are cool but NOTHING tops a REALLY GOOD Coconut Mocha. I didn’t even realize that Mon Ami served pretty AWESOME Coconut mochas…. and how unfortunate that I discovered it the day before Whole 30!

FIFTEEN // WORK
Made it to work. This is the front door of my church. <3

SIXTEEN // TO DO
Thursdays are my Fridays, and I spend the last hours with kids so I have to make sure everything is ready for Sunday morning. It’s easy to get distracted and forget what needs to get done so sometimes I make good use of my whiteboard wall, haha.

SEVENTEEN // MY OFFICE
Y’all. This is my office. “Vacuum” requires a lot of extra stuff, because my floor is covered with crap. Those beach balls. Some days the best $1/each investment, and some days it was the worst investment. haha.

EIGHTEEN // MY DESK
See why it’s easy to get distracted? My desk literally becomes a catch-all, and I sit down and feel overwhelmed. I’m working on keeping it more cleared off so that I can have more of a better mental space.

March 31 // stephanieorefice.net

NINETEEN // VACUUM
Boom. Vacuumed. We got these vacuums in December and they’re my favorite. They go on all surfaces and I am just in love.

TWENTY // BEST FEELING EVER
You guys, is there ANYTHING better than crossing things off of your to-do list? I THINK NOT!!!

TWENTY-ONE // THING TWO
Spent some time writing a letter to parents about summer camp. I’m really not the best at office work – I wasn’t hired because I’m awesome with desk stuff, I was hired because I’m awesome with kids. So this kind of stuff stresses me out, but you know.. gotta get it done.

March 31 // stephanieorefice.net

TWENTY-TWO // BLUE BUS
My beloved blue bus. You’re probably like “wait that bus is white.” YES, YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. But on one of them, there’s a little square of blue tape on the rear view mirror to help people tell the difference between the two busses. I call them “KID BUS” and “nice bus,” lol. I drive this bad boy 4/5 of my work days.

TWENTY-THREE // DINNER
At The Salvation Army, we serve free meals M-Th, which is so great for programming! I get to make sure kids have a meal EVERY TIME they come to church. I’m not a fan of meatloaf, but this was so good!

TWENTY-FOUR // BOOM
I took advantage of having the kids at church to have them help me put the toys upstairs, and that helped me finish my list! Now THAT felt good!

March 31 // stephanieorefice.net

TWENTY-FIVE // NEIGHBORHOOD
It was such a nice day that we took a break from cleaning to walk down to 7-11… for…

TWENTY-SIX // SLURPEES!
Freaking SLURPEES!

TWENTY-SEVEN // ANGELS SINGING
Cherry diet coke slurpee because Whole 30 started the next day. I wish I had gotten banana. Banana is the BEST slurpee flavor, but I guess I forgot for a minute there.

march3110

TWENTY-EIGHT // CRAFTING
After the slurpees were gone, we mod podged some wood squares to hopefully sell to raise money for camp.

TWENTY-NINE // STOCKING UP
Since we were starting Whole 30 the next day, I figured that I needed to set myself up for success so I stopped by Target to buy my #whole30 essentials – peppers, chicken, riced cauliflower and guacamole singles. That plus eggs and I’m set for a few days. I’m REALLY boring with my food.

THIRTY // GOODNIGHT
That’s it. Driving home. aaaaaaaaand then I went to sleep, but I was too tired for that.

So there you go. My day in 30 pictures. An ordinary Thursday. Let’s do this again soon.

  2. Day in the Life posts are my fave, I love getting glimpses into other people’s normal. I keep meaning to document a day but then I find myself 2 hours into my day before I remember that I’m supposed to be documenting! Cherry Coke slurpee sounds delicious and does all that iced coffee, you have great beverage choices lol

    1. hahaha you have to start like THE MINUTE you wake up and be so diligent! I tried to do it at least once an hour. you can do it! i believe in you! ;D

  3. This was fascinating/I love how you formatted it. And you weren’t ramble-y which I always am so I always respect/admire that. Ha! Also I just found out they sell riced cauliflower and my mind was blown and I need to go buy it ASAP!
